The Main objectives and Purposes of the Association are to promote the study of the science of statistics; to provide for research and instruction for the advancement of the study and dissemination of knowledge of statistics; to establish, promote, provide for, maintain and subsidize institutions and societies; for promotion of statistics; to provide for the instruction of students in statistics and all subjects and matters allied thereto, with power to appoint professors, readers, lecturer and other teachers and instructors; to accept, receive, hold, manage and disburse gifts, endowments, donations, grants and testamentary dispositions for the promotion of statistics; to publish reports, bulletins, books periodicals or other documents and works at the cost of the society; etc
